What we collect

When you create an account:

• Your email address and name. The address identifies the account and is where account email is sent.
• Your password, never in readable form. Nobody here can read it, which is also why a forgotten password can only be reset, not recovered.

If you list a startup, we also store what you put in the listing: the name, tagline, description, category, website, country and city, any social links, images you upload, and the discount code itself.

We record which listings you have unlocked, so the codes stay available to you and so a founder can see how many people took their offer.

What we do not collect

No advertising identifiers, no behavioural profile, no data bought from anyone else. This site loads no analytics package and no third party script, so nothing on a page reports back to a company you did not choose to deal with.

We do not retain IP addresses. Counting how many people opened a listing means telling one reader from another for a day at a time. We do that without keeping the address, and without anything that lets a reader be recognised the next day.

Cookies

Two, both strictly necessary, both set only after you sign in: one holding a short lived session and one used to renew it. They cannot be read by scripts running on the page, and they carry nothing beyond what is needed to keep you signed in.

There are no analytics or advertising cookies, which is why you are not being asked to accept any.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They act on our instructions and for no other purpose. By category, they are:

• Cloud hosting and storage.
• A managed database.
• A content delivery and security network.
• An email delivery provider, for account email.

Personal data is processed in the European Union. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

If you need the providers named, for a vendor review or a data protection assessment, write to info@founderfare.com and we will give you the current list.

Email we send

Account email only: confirming your address, resetting a password, and telling you what happened to a listing you submitted. We do not send marketing email, so there is no list to unsubscribe from.

How long we keep it

Your account and listing data stay until you ask us to delete them. Confirmation and password reset links are short lived and are removed once they expire. View counts are aggregate numbers and are not tied to a person.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, the GDPR gives you those rights explicitly, along with the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, email account holders rather than rely on you noticing.
